Hand-dyed fabrics

Here are the fabrics I dyed recently. I used Procion MX dyes from Dharma Trading Company on Egyptian Kona cotton.

An 11-color gradation of Chinese Red and Deep Yellow

A 9-color gradation using Cobalt Blue and Lemon Yellow

The greens look more yellowy in person but they are still beautiful.

I’m not sure if you can tell from these photos, but the green fabrics have a much more even mottling. I squished them down into the dye solution repeatedly to ensure the fabric got evenly coated with dye. I didn’t do that with the orange group and so there are a lot more white and pale areas on those.

As soon as I get more fabric I’ll do a group of pinks and purples.
