There were about 40 people there. I wasn’t nearly as nervous as I thought I would be, thanks to excellent coaching from Mike Nadolski. Thanks Mike!
I did a book signing after my talk. I sold 14 books, and a number of members already had copies which they asked me to sign. Afterward, we drove home through Greyling where I made my first visit to the Ice House quilt shop. I got to meet the owner and give her a copy of my book, and they were kind enough to give me a copy of the poster for my talk. I also bought some gorgeous fabric! All in all it was a fun day.
April 2009
April 18 and 19 I will be at the Chicago International Quilt Festival. I’m there to look, shop and meet people, so if you see me, say “Hi!”.
I’ve been invited to speak at the Michigan Quilt Network’s spring meeting April 25 at the Elmira (Michigan) Township Hall. I will be talking about how I came to write my book Open Your Heart with Quilting and will share some of the stories I collected during the interviews I conducted. This is my first speaking engagement for a quilt group and I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing all the lovely quilts.
I will have books for sale after the presentation and will be happy to autograph them. With each purchase you’ll receive a free quilt-themed book plate from BBD Creations as well as a free Open Your Heart bookmark.

October 2009
On October 4th and 5th I was be at the West Michigan Quilter’s Guild Show selling books and signing autographs.
I was at the Lakeshore Sewing booth and many people stopped by to say “Hi.” Beth’s husband got a great picture!
September 2009
On September 20th I sold and signed books at the Tuesday Night Crazy Quilters’ Quilt Show at the Bangor, Michigan Harvest Festival. The show was at Bangor Middle School – 803 Arlington in Bangor, MI from 10:00 to 4:oo.
This was my first book signing, so I was excited! Here is a picture taken by one of the quilting vendors (Dan, from Carol’s Quilt Cottage).
I have begun writing a regular column on Examiner.com. I will be posting three to four blogs per week for them. Stop by and check them out!
On September 10 I had an interview with Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood of the Grand Rapids Press. I will be in her column Running with Needles on September 28th. Keep an eye out for that!
Summer 2009
I’m in discussion with the Michigan Quilt Network about a talk they’d like me to give next summer. I don’t know the time or place yet, but I’ll keep you updated as I get more information!
